A discussion with Mastercard

It was awesome to join this Mastercard Connections Fraud Leadership Panel. Beyond dissecting the evolving threat landscape, we explored how robust security actually functions as a core revenue strategy.

In this post-panel interview, I sat down with
Ranjita Iyer, Sarah Strauss, and Brigette Korney to discuss the rapid acceleration of AI-driven threats and how we can turn the tables on adversaries.

A few key takeaways from our conversation:

- The Democratization of Tradecraft: We are seeing nation-states and criminal elements leveraging the exact same AI tools. Bad actors now have an accelerated ability to examine networks at scale, generate highly resilient deep fakes, and attack with unprecedented sophistication.

- Back to Basics in the "Mythos" Era: We have crossed the Rubicon with autonomous AI technologies. Models like Mythos aren't necessarily inventing new ways to hack; they are shining a bright light on known vulnerabilities. This means getting absolutely excellent at the fundamentals of cybersecurity is more critical than ever.

Flipping the AI Advantage: Despite the escalating threats, I am highly optimistic. By utilizing unblinking, high-compute defensive AI, we can solve many of our existing insecurities and overcome legacy tech debt. The ultimate goal is applying AI at scale to make us universally more secure.

Thank you to Mastercard for hosting such a great conversation with awesome partners on the future of fraud and cyber defense.
